First Grade had a great Valentine's Day this year! For lunch, we had a pizza party for the students, courtesy of Addi and Gracie's parents, Shawn & Mandy. Mandy and her mom, Cindy, brought LOTS of pizza and drinks for both first grade classes. The students LOVED it!
After lunch, we did a math activity with candy hearts. The students sorted colors, made tallies, then made a bar graph of their candies. Finally, they were able to eat their treats.
In the afternoon, our PTA parents helped us with our Valentine's Day party. Vivienne's mom, Julie, brought a pass-the-heart game. Kody was the winner. The students had fun listening for the music to stop as it played on a record player. (Most of the students had never seen a record player before, which was fun!)
After the heart game, we played Valentine's Bingo. Thank you to Easton M.'s mom, Angelie, for providing that game and the prize bags. Eason L, Karsen, Kris, and Harper were the big winners of Bingo.
After the games, the students went to the multipurpose room where we joined Ms. Julie and the 3rd grade class to dance to the Cupid Shuffle. The finale to the party was snacks provided by Izabella's mom, Millie, and of course opening our Valentine Day bags. It was a fun party. Thank you to all the parents that helped provide games, snacks, and assistance!
