November was a busy month in 1st grade. The students studied about the first Thanksgiving. We also had a Thanksgiving Feast and invited all our families. The students performed several Thanksgiving songs for the guests. Each family brought a dish of food to share. Mrs. Renn & Mrs. Wyckoff made a ham and a turkey. The students made costumes to wear -- some were Pilgrims; some were Native Americans. They also did an art project and wove place mats to use during their feast. A great time was had by everyone!
Today's art lesson was fun & edible too! The students used sugar cones, icing, and candy to build & decorate teepees.
